# Notifications

> Manage in-app and email notifications for your Waffle account

Waffle keeps you informed about billing events, scorecard activity, and product updates through email notifications. You control exactly which notifications you receive.

## Notification Categories

### Billing & Payments

Stay on top of your subscription status:

* **Payment failures** — immediate alerts if a charge fails *(always on)*
* **Subscription cancellations** — confirmation of plan changes *(always on)*
* **New subscriptions** — welcome email when you start a paid plan
* **Subscription renewals** — monthly renewal receipts
* **Credit pack purchases** — confirmation of one-time credit buys

### Scorecard Activity

Track your scorecard generation:

* **New scorecards created** — email when a scorecard is generated
* **Expiring scorecards** — reminders before archived scorecards are permanently deleted (Free plan)

### Product Updates

Learn about new features and tips:

* **Onboarding tips** — helpful tutorials during your first week
* **Feature announcements** — be first to know about new launches
* **Usage milestones** — celebrate generation milestones *(paid plans only)*
* **Weekly summaries** — digest of your activity and progress *(paid plans only)*

### Upgrade & Offers

* **Upgrade recommendations** — suggestions when you're near plan limits *(always on)*

## Managing Your Preferences

    Click **Notifications** in the sidebar to open the notification preferences page.

  <Step title="Toggle individual notifications">
    Each notification type has an on/off toggle. Click to enable or disable specific emails.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pause all notifications">
    Use the **pause toggle** in the header to temporarily stop all non-critical notifications. Critical alerts (payment failures, cancellations) will still come through.

<Tip>
  Some notifications are marked **"Always on"** — these are critical billing alerts that can't be disabled to ensure you never miss payment issues.

## Paid Plan Extras

Subscribers on Starter, Growth, or Scale plans get access to additional notification types:

* **Usage milestones** — celebration emails when you hit scorecard generation milestones
* **Weekly summaries** — a digest of your activity and interview prep progress

These are toggled off by default — enable them in your notification preferences if you'd like to receive them.
