Customizing Your Scorecard

Waffle’s AI builds comprehensive scorecards live, streaming the work in real time, but you’re not locked into the initial output. You can refine and customize your scorecards using two approaches: chat-based refinement or direct editing in the detail view.

Refining via Chat

The easiest way to customize your scorecard is to ask the AI to modify it through follow-up messages in the same chat thread. Simply describe what you want to change, and Waffle will update the scorecard accordingly.

Example Refinement Prompts

Here are some common requests you can make: Adding competencies:

• “Add a competency for leadership skills”
• “Include emotional intelligence as a key area”

Adjusting weights:

• “Increase the weight of technical skills to 5”
• “Lower the importance of project management to 2”

Modifying questions:

• “Remove the question about years of experience”
• “Add a question about handling conflict in teams”
• “Change the leadership question to focus on remote team management”

Refining rubrics:

• “Add more behavioral anchors for the communication competency”
• “Make the scoring rubric for technical problem solving more detailed”

Changing red flags:

• “Remove the red flag about job hopping—we’re okay with that”
• “Add a warning about lack of startup experience”

How It Works

When you send a refinement request, the AI:

1. Analyzes your request in the context of the existing scorecard
2. Updates the relevant sections (competencies, questions, rubrics, etc.)
3. Streams the updated scorecard back into the chat

Changes are saved automatically to your library. You can continue refining as many times as you’d like until the scorecard feels right.

Editing in Detail View

For a comprehensive view of your scorecard, click any scorecard card in your library to open the full detail page.

What You’ll See

The detail page displays:

• All competencies with importance weights shown as visual progress bars
• Interview questions grouped by competency
• Scoring rubrics with behavioral anchors for each rating level
• Red flag warnings to watch for during interviews
• EEOC compliance guidance for legal interviewing

You can navigate between sections to review the full content of your scorecard. While direct inline editing isn’t available in this version, you can return to the chat thread and request changes conversationally.

1. Library page → Grid of scorecard cards with top competencies
2. Click a card → Opens the full detail page
3. Review sections → Scroll through competencies, questions, rubrics, red flags
4. Return to chat → Use the chat link to refine further

Iterative Refinement

Waffle’s chat-based workflow is designed for iteration. You don’t need to get everything perfect in the first prompt—generate a baseline scorecard quickly, then refine it through conversation.

Suggested Workflow

1. Paste your job description → Watch an initial scorecard build itself live in 2-4 minutes
2. Review the output → Skim the competencies, questions, and rubrics
3. Request adjustments → Ask the AI to tweak anything that feels off
4. Repeat → Continue refining until the scorecard matches your needs
5. Save and favorite → Bookmark the final version for easy access

This iterative approach is faster than traditional form-based tools and more flexible than one-shot generation.
