Find answers to common questions about Waffle’s features, billing, and integrations.

Using Waffle

Waffle uses Claude AI to analyze job descriptions and generate structured interview scorecards. The AI identifies key competencies for the role, creates targeted interview questions, builds scoring rubrics with behavioral anchors, and flags potential red flags to watch for. Each scorecard is unique and tailored to the specific job description you provide.
Yes! You can refine scorecards through the chat interface by asking the AI to modify specific sections. You can also view the scorecard detail page to see the full structure. All changes save automatically as you make them.
The best job descriptions are at least 100 words and include the role title, key responsibilities, required skills, and team context. More detail leads to better scorecards — the AI can identify more relevant competencies and create more targeted questions when it has rich information to work with. For tips on writing effective JDs, see our Job Descriptions guide.
Yes, message limits vary by plan: Free (20 messages), Starter (50 messages), Growth (100 messages), and Scale (200 messages). These limits help ensure quality responses and prevent context degradation. When you reach the limit, you can start a new chat thread to continue creating or refining scorecards.

Library & Storage

Check the Archive tab — your scorecard may have been archived. Paid plans have unlimited active scorecards, so archiving only happens when you manually archive a scorecard.
Archived scorecards move to the Archive tab. On every paid plan, archived scorecards are kept indefinitely and can be restored at any time.
If the scorecard was archived, yes — restore it from the Archive tab. Paid plan users can restore archived scorecards at any time. If a scorecard was permanently deleted from the archive (not just archived), it cannot be recovered.

Billing & Plans

Yes — every paid plan starts with a 14-day trial. You get full access to Starter-tier features during the trial, and you can cancel at any time before the trial ends. Card on file is required to start the trial.
Your scorecards are preserved — nothing is deleted automatically when you downgrade. Every paid Waffle plan ships with unlimited scorecards, so downgrades only affect message limits, AI token budgets, and integration access.
Pay-as-you-go credit packs were retired in May 2026. Every paid plan now includes unlimited scorecards, so the one-time top-up product is no longer needed. See the Credits page for the full announcement.

Templates & Features

Templates are pre-built interview scorecards for common roles (Software Engineer, Product Manager, SDR, etc.) that you can use as a starting point. Browse the Template Library from the sidebar, preview any template, and click “Use Template” to open it in a chat for further refinement.
ULTRA mode gives the AI a larger thinking budget for deeper analysis, producing scorecards with more competencies (8-12 vs 4-8), richer behavioral anchors, and more nuanced questions. It’s included with unlimited usage on every paid plan. Toggle it on above the chat composer. Learn more in our ULTRA Mode guide.
Yes! Send the job description to create@waffle.cards from your registered email address. Waffle will process it and generate a scorecard in your library. See the Email-to-Scorecard guide for details.
The dictionary lets you define acronyms and jargon specific to your organization so the AI uses them correctly when generating scorecards. Available on paid plans. Manage it in Settings → Dictionary. See the Dictionary guide.
Yes — use Share Links to generate a tokenized URL that anyone can view in their browser without a Waffle account. You can set expiration dates and revoke links at any time.

Scorecard detail view

The scorecard detail page displays competencies as interactive tiles in a visual grid. Tiles are sized by importance weight — high-weight competencies get larger tiles. Click any tile to open the competency drawer with scores, evidence, rubric, and questions. See managing your scorecards for details.
Yes. Open the competency drawer by clicking a tile, then use the override option to select a new 1–5 rating and provide a reason. Overrides are logged for transparency. See overriding a competency score.
Yes. The transcript section on the scorecard detail page includes a delete option. Deleting a transcript removes it and clears all associated competency scores from the scorecard.

Transcript ingestion

One API that accepts transcripts from Granola, Otter, Fathom, Fireflies, Gong, and 25+ other note-takers and routes them to the destination you already run. Connect once, normalize every transcript, and push to any warehouse, database, or webhook.
Waffle accepts VTT, SRT, JSON, and plain text files up to 10 MB. You can drag and drop a file or paste transcript text directly. VTT and SRT produce the best results because they include speaker labels and timestamps. See the transcript ingestion overview for details.
When you attach a transcript to a scorecard, Waffle’s AI reads the full conversation and scores the candidate against every competency. Each competency receives a 1–5 rating, a confidence level, and up to three evidence excerpts from the transcript. Scoring follows EEOC guidelines and evaluates only job-relevant skills. Learn more in the AI scoring guide.
Transcript scoring uses tokens from your plan’s monthly budget. Each scoring run consumes tokens proportional to the transcript length and number of competencies. Free accounts get 50,000 tokens per month, Starter gets 500,000, Growth gets 1,500,000, and Scale gets 5,000,000. Check your usage in Settings → Billing. See Plans and pricing for details.
Scoring pauses until your next billing cycle. You can upgrade your plan for a higher monthly token budget.
Any tool that exports VTT, SRT, or plain text works — including Granola, Fireflies.ai, Otter.ai, Fathom, tl;dv, Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. See the full list of compatible sources.

Mobile

Yes! Waffle is fully responsive and works in any mobile browser. The interface adapts with bottom navigation tabs, a floating composer button, and touch-optimized controls. You can also install Waffle as a Progressive Web App (PWA) from your browser for a native app-like experience.
Not yet — but the PWA experience is designed to feel native with safe-area support, mobile-optimized tap targets, and an app-like layout. Install it from Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android) by using the “Add to Home Screen” option.

Billing Extras

Yes! All paid plans offer a 20% discount when billed annually. Switch to annual billing from Settings → Billing at any time. See the Plans page for annual pricing.
