Create Your First Scorecard

Follow these five simple steps to generate your first interview scorecard with Waffle.
1

Sign up for free

Visit waffle.cards and create your account. No credit card required to start—your first 3 scorecards are completely free.
2

Start a new chat

Click the “New Chat” button in the sidebar, or press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) to open the command palette. The chat interface is where all the magic happens. You’ll interact with Waffle’s AI just like having a conversation.
3

Provide your job description

In the chat input, paste a full job description or type a short role name (e.g., “Senior Software Engineer”). If you type a short role name, Waffle automatically fetches a real JD from the web for that role. For the best results, include as much detail as possible:
  • Role title and level (e.g., “Senior Software Engineer” not just “Engineer”)
  • Key responsibilities (5-10 bullet points about day-to-day work)
  • Required skills and qualifications (both technical and soft skills)
  • Team context (team size, who they’ll report to, cross-functional partners)
  • Company culture and values (helps generate culture-fit competencies)
Press Enter to send your message.
4

Confirm and generate

Waffle shows a confirmation card summarizing the role, estimated competencies, and JD source. Click Generate Scorecard to proceed, or Adjust first to refine your inputs before generating.
5

Review your scorecard

Waffle’s AI starts streaming your scorecard into the chat within seconds, with the full scorecard typically finishing in 2-4 minutes (up to 6 minutes in ULTRA Mode). You’ll watch these populate live as they’re generated:
  • Competencies weighted 1-5 based on role importance (e.g., “Technical Problem Solving: Weight 5/5”)
  • Interview questions per competency with suggested follow-ups
  • Scoring rubrics with behavioral anchors at each rating level (1-5 scale)
  • Red flags specific to the role (warning signs to watch for)
  • EEOC compliance guidance to keep your interviews legally sound
The scorecard appears as a visual card right in your chat—no need to navigate away.
